New character descriptions reveal the characters joining Tony and Ziva in the NCIS spinoff. The long-running procedural drama, one of the most popular franchises produced by CBS Studios, is reuniting stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo for the first time in over a decade for a Paramount+ Original called NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Although Weatherly and de Pablo will reprise their respective roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, in addition to executive producing, they won’t be the show’s only stars.

An update from TVLine sheds light on the supporting characters, mentioning that the Paramount+ drama is looking to cast a character somewhat similar to Perdita Weeks, known for her role as Juliet Higgins in the Magnum P.I. reboot. From there, the details move on to the other supporting characters and mention Tali, Tony and Ziva’s daughter, who is a teenager in the new series:

The Paramount+ offshoot’s ensemble will also include a Russian hacker extraordinaire (of course), a French Interpol liaison and #Tiva’s tweenage daughter Tali herself, to ideally be played by a French-American ingenue.

Tali Will Be A Central Character In The Spinoff

She Will Get The Spotlight As Tony & Ziva Repair Their Relationship

In the upcoming Paramount+ spinoff, Tony and Ziva are raising their daughter together, but when Tony’s security company is attacked, the couple finds themselves on the run in Europe.

Weatherly and de Pablo recently shared details about Tali in the spinoff, with Weatherly saying that the daughter is essentially the third lead in the Paramount+ series. The actor and executive producer underlined Tali’s complicated feelings about Ziva, given the character’s history, and suggested that trust would be an issue between mother and daughter. This is a reference to Ziva’s memorable NCIS exit.

After Ziva’s supposed death in the main NCIS show, Tony left the team to raise their daughter. Years later, however, Ziva is discovered alive. This leads her to complete one final mission before she’s reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. In the upcoming Paramount+ spinoff, Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter together, but when Tony’s security company is attacked, the couple finds themselves on the run in Europe. They try to fight out the culprit, learning to trust each other again in hopes of finally getting their happy ending.

Consisting of ten episodes, The Magicians showrunner and Trumbo writer John McNamara will pen the script and executive produce NCIS: Tony & Ziva. With filming slated to take place in Europe over the summer, the latest casting update affirms that the spinoff will try to build up the team dynamic, which is what makes the franchise so enduring. It also digs deeper into the characters, as NCIS: Origins will as well.
